Is History Repeating for Sony ?

Playstation 2 Playstation 3

Is Story repeating for Sony ?

This is the question asked by Sam Kennedy in an article in 1up.

He is comparing the Playstation 2’s launch to the Playstation 3’s launch and if we are following his way of thinking, the Playstation 3 should be a success.

It is a interesting article to read.

News on Wii

WiiAfter the bad news I had recently, I have to clean my mind and go forward.

On the bright side, Nintendo has made an official statement on the Wii availability in Europe.

  • Launch 8th of December
  • cost 249€ / 179£
  • Wii play in the package
  • 15 to 20 games available at launch
  • Game price between 49€ and 59€ (34£ and 39£)

So the Wii price is the one everyone was expecting. But games prices is a little bit more expensive than expected.

Ultimate Ghosts’n Goblins on PSP

Have you played Ghosts'n Goblins when you were younger? I have on Atari ST.

Ghosts'n Goblins is an archetype of an old arcade game: difficult, difficult and difficult. Recently, there was a lot of old games "revisited". As gamers are going older, nostalgia is a good selling argument. But most of these games have lost the magic of what they were (difficult I said). Perhaps we had good surprises like Prince of Persia, but it was more a universe reused than a exact transcription of an old game.

For this game, Capcom has made it well. Young gamers who are used to a lot of lives available, level design made for an easy progression and "save everywhere" will be disappointed. Of course, you can start the game in beginner mode and it will be easier. Nevertheless, it will not be easy.

The best mode is the standard mode where you have what you got previously. The controls are always chunky (jumps are not easy to control) but you have a lot of fun to try to finish a boss.

Thanks to Sony, the PSP is not zone locked. So, you can play the Japanese version. There are some menus in Japanese, must it is not difficult to find you way in them. And the game is so addictive than you will easily forget this minor problem.

So, have fun with this classic old game like I do.
